Week in Review
Published March 1, 2024
I swear I'm nearly free of this cold. I didn't work on LHF much earlier in the week because of it though. Today has to mark the end of being sick...
Despite my excuses, let's examine this week's progress.
Exercise Directory
New Exercises
Updated Exercises
- Add lower body muscles to Sled Push
- Add hamstring and glute as primary muscles for Cable Pull Through
- Clarify repetitions for One-Handed Plate Pinch
App Development
Plan Unique Exercises
My biggest accomplishment for the week was a planning algorithm adaptation. LHF occasionally recommended duplicate exercises. If LHF determined both my lower back and hamstrings were cold muscles, the algorithm could recommend something like the Good Morning exercise twice. LHF doesn't do that anymore. While recommending exercises, LHF checks to make sure that it hasn't already suggested that exercise in the session plan.
"House Cleaning"
Whether I'm cooking in the kitchen or coding an application, I clean as I go. For this week that meant I updated LHF's Python and JavaScript dependencies. LHF is a Django application, and fairly light on JS dependencies. There were no major dependency updates so this was fairly simple.
Business Development
I'm still working on that explainer page. Yes, "still". Honestly, creating images took up the majority of the time I devoted to the explainer page this week. Even after decades of product development, I don't have an image editing workflow that I love. Blame it on my love of coding or Linux or just plain laziness. I settled on hand-annotating images for now, but I know there's room to improve here.
Explainer page available next week!
I'm drawing a line.
