Week in Review

Published Feb. 16, 2024

One thing I didn't do much of this week was work out! I caught a cold last Friday. Between terrible sleep and giving my body time to recuperate, I only got two sessions in this week and one of them was this morning. Every regiment has ups and downs. I'm feeling better now. My cold slowed LHF progress, but I made one big improvement. Let's get to this week's review.

App Development

I completed one big change this week. As luck would have it, I wrote a blog post about it too. I updated LHF's planning algorithm. That link goes into the details, but the short story is that the app never selected some exercises. Now it does.

Exercise Directory

With the planning algorithm update, I've seen new exercises during my workout sessions. I feel like there are a lot of new exercises, but I only added one to the Exercise Directory, the One-Handed Landmine Press. I've seen gym mates do this for awhile and I've always wanted to try it.

Business Development

I need to get this app into beta testers' hands. I could do that now. The app is rough around the edges. There's tons more that I want to do. I need user feedback though. I have something that works well for me but I need to know how much I've overfit the app to my expectations.

I'll prioritize a "Welcome" page that I can give to new users. It'll describe the three main activities on LHF right now:

  • Set exercise preferences
  • Plan a session
  • Track the sessions reps, weight, and RPE

Even those activities that are so familiar to me at this point, need some explanation.

That's it for the week; progress in the face of germ adversity. Keep it going, keep it going full steam.
